I met Eileen for the first time when she came to an initial exploration meeting about the possibility of creating a procession of light in Balbriggan (Baile Brigin) to celebrate Brigid's Day. Eileen brought a vision to the table that lit us all up - creating a Brigid "puppet" that could walk with us, complete with moving hands, lights in her crown and cloak and bring Brigid's presence to life. Without hesitation, or funding, Eileen went straight to work and inspired others to work with her, to create the most spectacular Brigid puppet that drew the attention of the 500+ crowds, especially the children, to feel what it might be like to walk alongside Brigid. She was magical, graceful and powerful. I loved Eileen's confidence and ability to bring her incredible vision to life with such brilliant creativity, using all recycled materials. She was a joy to work with - open and clear at all times. I could totally trust her leadership in completing this enormous, (8ft) task in a very short space of time (3 weeks).
